Supplication!
- The boys wake up the next day to the beginning of festivities.
- They spend the day and night with the Ag Hicks. Beldon and Bobwhite are worse for the wear.
- They get to the Tumbling Dog quite early. They have a large and uneventful brunch. Asking about the Hacart, they are told that doesn't happen until 3.
- They step away for a while, and come back with about a half hour to go.
- Just before the cask is about to be opened, a longshanks mentions the boys look like dogshit, and says he has something that will perk them right up. Bobwhite is loathe to give up their places, but Four is enthusiastic enough to pull him along.
- The man stumbles and drops some stuff, including an oilcloth that most of the boys notice has "FLINGER'S" written on it, before he curses his clumsiness and bends over to pick up his things.
- The oilcloth burns as he touches it, leaving no trace. He runs off.
- The boys are disappointed to lose out on the Hacart. They grudgingly begin another goose chase.
- Hours of getting the runaround pass, but after a day of doing errands, they finally have THE BOOK. They are ready for their heist.
