Kathresian Range

A long and tall mountain range in the western Mainland that runs the length of the continent from the north coast and Illiar Bay to the Heretic Sea in the south. The northern range serves as the Odessa border from Post-Alexia, Wydmoor, and Ubrekt. The southern range splits into the Luthresian Range in the west and the southern Kathresian in the east forming the valley of Pwelldyn and that nation's borders with Odessa in the northwest and Celstia to the east.
The height of the range and its effect on weather patterns is believed to be the cause of many of the eponymous storms which occur on the Stormchalice. The geology and steepness of the range means that the few best and most reliable passes and gaps have been major trade and migration corridors for ages, but none are without danger due to frequent landslides and washouts and sudden storms. Even in the northern range the highest peaks frequently have snow and ice cover.
