Burials
- The group does some last rites for the demon's victims. They also liberate some gear:
- 25 platinum, and a stone in the shape of a prism, which they identify later.
- They keep moving, heading into some of the unexplored area they evidently went around on their path through.
- They find a cavern that holds habitations, smashed by some unknown force. Corpses lie among the rubble. They are small (as in "-sized"), but in bad enough condition that not much else can be told about them.
- They're attacked by specters, except lightning-based. They go down quickly but hit hard, leaving Joana and Bern in pretty bad condition.
- It's enough to convince the gang that it is time to rest up. They backtrack out, followed all the way by singing.
- They rest outside, uneventfully.
- Coming back in, they suddenly find themselves no longer at the entrace. Bern recognizes it, and they discover that they've been placed near the glowing lake (in the side-chamber where they fought the black pudding).
- On the island with the ancient tomb, there is a massive beast.
- He addresses them directly
[ED: insert text here. tl; dr, says he eats human trespassers, but doesn't eat worms, so they must grovel and beg etc. They briefly intrigue him by mentioning Mother Lorinda, so he offers a game: His children chase them for their lives, they can either find him or escape forever]
- The game starts. It's terrifying. The "children" are a seemingly neverending supply of werehares, and they go fast!
