Notes

7th Heavenfall

  • finished meeting with Monk. He has a minor errand should the party leave the city again, and also would like to establish some norms should they choose to do so.
  • went to the Alexandrian shrine, and met The Pastor, an old breaker gnome of indeterminate gender whose eyes have been replaced with a saphire and the other with a ruby. The also have a brand mark on their forehead but it is different than the 2 Hurts' contractors the party has previously met. They appear to be serving as the church leader as some sort of penance for their part in having trained the mixed monster forces prior to the Gnomish Civil War. They don't like Monster Town and think the servitors are making a mistake in trying to live in "civilized" life.
  • Met with Eggrin Black again who mentioned a powerful wand of his was stolen by halfling cousins over a month ago. He would like it back but suspects the thieves are long gone back to the West. According to him, the city is in a defensive posture after losing their elite troops and champion to The Menace a couple of months ago. He suggests that other factions in the town might be willing to entertain offers of help from outsiders.
    • He suggests that the Stage Manager could offer a route to the Goblin Steering Committee
    • Gnolls are exploiting the City's situation and have sent a major raiding party across the Grenrhusk River, and the Hobgoblins might appreciate an assist.
    • The Warg cavalry used by Orcs and Hobgoblins has launched a suffrage movement for a position on the council. The party was advised to not engage with the Wargs if they wanted to stay in good standing.
    • There is no ready route to meeting with Gruul the Great, and the party shows little interest in meeting with the Kobolds.
  • Went to Theater of Lights in Warrenside and met with the Stage Manager. Wolf talks him into the possibility of putting on a musical production with fancy magical effects and animals etc. He is convinced and offers the party the next booking, likely in a few days as he is not optimistic about the the current production: an acrobatics troupe who recites lewd poetry while doing thrilling stunts. The party is warned against using explosive devices in their show, possibly due to bad prior experiences with them at the theater.

  • Went to Hobington and met with the Marshall's chief of staff. After talking down a bribe request from 100 pp to 25 pp he agrees to allow the party a quick lunch time presentation with the Marshall the next day. The Hobgoblins admit to the city's poor situation. The Chief of Staff is discouraged by how long new forces are taking to recruit.
    • The group meets with the Marshall the next day and receive permission to help with the gnoll problems and receive a map marker to a gnoll raiding camp near the southern ancient dwarven bridge over the Grenrhusk River from which the gnolls are launching many attacks and raids. The gnolls are said to be led by a flind. No compensation is offered.
