9th Harvest

We start by finishing our chat with Jarl Ggrregg:

For as long as Jarl Ggrregg reigns, the people of New Gianthome will be friends of Monstertown.

He also commits to not attacking Stratford's village, and to sending a group of giants to help clean up doggtown with us

We decide to teleport back to the trading post, taking our giant crew with us (5x hill giants, 2 x stone). Our arrival does not go unnoticed, and triggers a brief panic.

We check in with stakeholders:

• Hobgobcom:
  • incidents of sabotage have increased
  • Several buildings have been lost to arson, caught one of the arsonists, their corpse is in the meatlocker. Two worgs lost when the stables burned down. A gobbo and a kobold were killed, others escaped. They are citizens of monstertown

• We are provided an updated census:
  • 430 goblins (mayor is now leader, not the stage commander), most contentious
  • 215 hobbos
  • 221 kobolds
  • 17 worgs
  • 116 orcs (they have been following gruul)

• we can be ready to leave in 48 hours

We call a Council meeting:

• a new goblin wearing a tophat joins the council
  • he is wearing halfling clothes, and is reluctant to leave the trading post
• the card collector is NOT PRESENT
• There is general discussion about the plan to attack doggtown.
  • The goblin mayor is somewhat reluctant to leave town, and noncommital in general
• Weapon supplies are adequate:
  • Plenty of spears
  • Lacking ranged weaponry, situated well for close uarters.
• It is determined to split the party:
  • thola, gorra, sid, some kobolds to range ahead and find the secret entrance
  • Wolf and Stratford to (???)

The next morning, 30min before sunrise, ALARM BELLS! The Card Collector covered in gore and blood is being forcefully dragged by a pair of large hobbos. We interrogate the CC about what the hell.

Turns out he's been searching brains for brainworms. Wolf uses locate object to identify which townsfolk have a parasite: roughly 1 in 20 of the newcomers.

And also the card collector.

Thola is incensed, and ready to murder him where he stands. Stratford interposes himself, and the session ends.
