Flophouse search, meeting Bolero

  • The crew daisy-chains lookouts all the way up to the 3rd floor of the hovel. First door = wrong apartment. Second door = neighbour, who provides us with info about which apartment is Eurasmus'; that Eurasmus has a new, mousey girlfriend; and that he last saw Eurasmus a week or so ago, but doesn't really track him so that date has a lot of fudge.
  • Bern, Therunin pick Eurasmus' lock. Find his love letters from Urice (takes). Find a well-loved book of fables (taken). Find a Canon from his mom (taken). Find assorted alchemy books (left alone). Note lack of money, clothes, valuables, shoes, or alchemy kits. He likely planned to leave. No magic at all in apartment.

Library

  • Therunin chats up the librarian. He can't give us access to Restricted Section, but he does recognize Urice's name. She's an employee and he gets her for us.
  • Whip (bad cop, waving her sexts) and Bern (good cop) investigate Urice. All likelihood a patsy that Eurasmus pumped for info about location of the books he wanted to steal. Seems a legitimate, kind-hearted orphan from the boons.
  • Urice mentions his gambling debts, pointedly.

Silver Swan

  • Meet Eurasmus' two professor, Graggar and Ealdrin. They are unhelpful, except to say they've noticed no change in his behaviour and he was, indeed, a rather shit student.
  • In the sidebar image, Therunin rolls two 1s on an advantage roll, and the two profs come out of the meeting feeling like they got a pitch for a timeshare as she talks about the Circus Librorum.

Bandit encounter: "Frank Vs The Wolf"

  • On way home after the Swan, a man named "Frank" offers 50 gold for info on Eurasmus.
  • Pete turns into a wolf and... kills many people dead. Including Frank.
  • An attempt to lie about Eurasmus' location has Frank quip that the "one place he definitely isn't" is the sewers. What do these brigands have to do with the sewers...?
