Setting: Dragonfly Inn

- Lyannia Othelio, of the Othelio family (family that controls the University's 'sphere'), contacts the crew to recover some 'mundane' books of historical importance which were stolen from the reserve section of the university library. Because they have to do with the founding of the city, the theft is embarrassing. It is theorized that they were stolen for their $$$ value.

- Want them recovered before they disappear into a private collection.

- Since theft was from secure region of library, likely an inside job.

- Missing student: Eurasmus Draddrin. No evidence pointing to him otherwise. He doesn't have access to the reserve himself, so he would have needed help. His main alchemical professors are Graggar the Grey and Eadrin Syrill.

- Likely lived in Scholar's Quarter. Lyannia says he was considered a poor student, may be a gambler. No other info on Erasmus.

- Payment terms: 2k gold, 200g upfront. Full for return of books and Draddin, or proof of his non-involvement "to my satisfaction." Partial payments for information but failure, or getting the docs but not the thief. Bonuses for accomplices: names, proof.

- The theft: doors were locked and undisturbed. No conjuration residue. Best guess: Gaseous Form + maybe Dimension Door. Likely could not have cast DD himself; maybe it was cast on an item for him. GF requires concentration, which implies accomplices.

-The papers/books are unresponsive to magical retrieval. Likely in lead-lined box.

- Only specific documents taken, so looks like there was a 'target list'.

-Innkeeper Bacon. Return to Inn and ask for Germain to (eventually) talk to Lyannia.

Setting: University Grounds

-Therunin, Bern, Elian

The surroundings

-It's a student slum! The local open-air marketplace has closed for evening, but sells consignment textbooks and alchemical kit.

-Important buildings: Library. Gokar Hall (biggest, Uni admin building). Next door to Gokar: Drace Hall (partially dedicated to Bardic College). Circus Librorum (outskirts, field house).

The library

-"By far" most secure building, and oldest uni-built building. Imported sound. Shudder doors on windows -- stout wood, steel banding. Windows barred from inside. Windows are closed w/ closing of library at night.

_Walls are climable, but no visible locks to pick.

-Ground-level doors are more secure, barred. No discernable secret entrances.

-Behind library is deeply wooded grove with big stone structure. = Founder's Grove.

-Mausoleum; remains of university's luminaries. GROVE poorly maintained for at least a century, but mausoleum is pristine. Maus = no closing doors; arched doorway. Large central chamber like by Orders of Continual Light (red, purple) with huge statue of half-orc in centre (intelligence, wonder on face; menacing, monstrous in pose) = GOKAR, FIRST CHANCELLOR.

-Maus part 2: large room. Pair of ramps ascending in helix -- no floors, really. Lots of 'resting places' in the walls; none are ajar.

-Range on DD spell is 500'.

Setting: Scholar's Quarter, Places of Ill-Repute

-Joana, Whip

Cock-n-Bottle

-Barkeep = Archer. Has that "if I don't pay attention to it I can honestly claim I don't know of any gambling, even as my tavern becomes a casino" patter down.

-Our team plays themselves as Drunks Who Just Want to Have Fun, which... may be true?

-They play too well and don't may inroads on the low-stakes game, but the higher-stakes game is better.

-Alchemical students hang round the Cock-n-Bottle. Bards = Silver Swan.

-Eurasmus is a player at the higher-stakes game, but hasn't been seen by ANYONE in a week. Everyone assume he just ran away from his debts.

-Eurasmus' flophouse: discovered!
