Barbarian King's Buckler

Recovered from the Tomb of the Barbarian King near Wydmoor Free City, this shield is clearly of ancient and primitive make, although of superb quality for its origins. Is is made of darkwood with a thin covering of bronze, in the center of which is the figure of a bull's head. It attaches to the arm with a pair leather straps with bronze buckles.

Functionally it is a buckler (+1 AC, does not prevent use of shield hand). Any ranged attacks OR RANGED SPELL ATTACKS passing within 5' (adjacent box) of it are rerouted to the wielder. It can be used to cast shield without the normal components, the use of which recharges the next dawn.

Formerly carried by Germain, founder of the Azure Geese, it is now used by Whip.
