Banner went the most Ride or Die for the gubbites and ends up getting hit with the curse. Sad, man. Detarame (talk) 21:14, 15 June 2019 (UTC)

Level Advancement Plans

  • Gear Purchases: breastplate armor, roadwater,
  • Level 5: Warlock 4: Feat - War Caster (advantage on concentration, spells allowed for OAs, when combined with improved pact weapon allows casting of any type of spell except for ones with priced material components while still holding sword and shield), +1 spell known (?), +1 cantrip known(booming blade),
  • OPTION 1: bad idea, maybe a 3-5 level dip of Kensei monk so the Pact longsword could count as a monk weapon. It would require either getting more Wisdom or else daily burning a slot for mage armor to be able to fight unarmored without large AC loss, but 3 monk levels would grant: 10' speed bonus, a bonus action DEX-to-hit 1d4 attack, 3 Ki points/short rest for flurry (2 bonus attacks instead of 1) or bonus action dodge/disengage/dash, deflect arrows, and agile parry ability. (Max AC when using Mage Armor, Ki-powered dodge, Agile Parry, and Shield spell as a reaction would be 23 with all physical attacks at disadvantage and DEX saving throws at advantage). Would have the ability to be able to fight at full power even with the full loss of gear. Bonus attacks are also able to trigger curse/hex bonus damage. Big glaring disadvantages: lack of spell learning/slot progression, monk bonus actions interfering with warlock/spell bonus actions or not working at all with booming blade/green flame blade, the first 2 monk levels being pretty much worthless level ups (would need to switch to spear or quarterstaff pact weapon until Monk 3 to still take advantage of martial arts, so lower damage dice on primary attack to be able to make a bonus action 1d4 attack). Going to Monk 5 would grant slowfall, Ki points: 5/short rest, and stunning strike (though weak WIS bonus for DC, only DC13 at character level 10), martial arts damage to d6, as well as a 2nd attack. This build option would focus much more on melee attacks and may not advance to Warlock 5 as it doesn't need to take Thirsting Blade invocation and will likely not further advance Sorcerer levels until character level 10+.
  • OPTION 2: more sensible, at level 9: Warlock 5: +1 invocation: thirsting blade for 2nd attack, possibly switch agonizing blast to eldritch smite (mostly for how hilarious it would be for an 8 STR halfling to be able to knock down up to huge-sized monsters); Sorcerer 4: CHA ASI, 4 level 1 slots, 3 level 2 slots, 4 sorcery points
  • Level 10+: probably all SORC for metamagic and damage and utility spells,

Spells to consider

  • Cantrips: Toll the dead, booming blade
  • Level 1: Hellish Rebuke, Healing Elixir, Cause Fear,
  • Level 2: Shatter, Mirror Image, Hold Person, Blur
  • Level 3: Thunder Step, Fear
