A Dwarven city located in the foothills of Gildenhome at the meeting of two rivers. It is a center of trade in southern inland Gildenhome, and the Kred Fortress is home to a defensive stockpile of weapons and arms. Called by some the "Gateway to the South," riverboats, halfling tribes, and gnomish traders are a common sight.

While impressive to outsiders, it is pretty-shabby by Dwarf standards. Like most Dwarven settlements, it is divided into two sections: the fortress and the city. The city grow out from the mouth of the fortress, which is built inside of a large hillside that has been smoothed and loaded with crenelations and defensive works. Kred City is ruled by THANE WHATSHISNUTS, while Captain Kleptinax is responsible for the city guard and Kred Fortress.

Kred is located at the meeting of the Tranhakni and Thanos rivers, and as such is both an economic and strategic nexus for southern Gildenhome. The active river-docks are about a mile from the city walls, and are maintained by a tribe of boat halflings.

Its population numbers in the tens of thousands in the winter months, but swells in the Spring and Summer month with the business of traders in all directions. It is in a prime position to take advantage of this trader traffic, and is a transition point for much of the wealth flowing from the South and West into Gildenhome, and vice versa.

It possesses an illicit arena that is currently closed due to disruptions in the slave supply.
