The so-called "Mithril Man of Odessa," Hedrifax Kaine (the Younger) is the only son of Hedrifax Kaine (the Elder). He sided with the royal family when they split with his father, leading to his quick integration into the halls of Odessan power.

Kaine currently acts as the chancellor of the University of Odessa. He is a master artificer specializing in the creation of golems and other constructs whose most notable achievement to date is his successful transference of his consciousness into a large mithril golem.
