Handelat is by treaty a Fresian city, although with a good deal of Alexian, Flannari, and even Dwarven influence. As the gateway to the Fresian heartland, it is a major center of commerce as well as a well fortified free city. It was occupied by Gildenhome forces during the Calamity and a large Dwarven enclave remains
