The mortal followers of the Eight raised to Demigod status at the conclusion of the First War (or the usurpers that killed those followers). After several centuries of romance, intrigue, and calamitous drama, they chose (or were forced by those who chose) to retreat behind the Veil, able only to communicate through their child Oracles.
