  • we open in the waystation, roughly two days from Dogtown. It's a village, which does not have a wall

27th Harvest

  • We leave the remnant in the capable hands of the Card Collector and the rest of the council, send the scouts out to reconnoitre, and head off to find the entrances
  • Doggtown sits on a bluff, with the lowlands to the north/NE
  • We approach to within ~half a day, undiscovered, and make camp

28th Harvest

  • the weather is bad, and the familiars are unable to identify the necessary tree, however Gorra manages to find scout the area more effectively
    • on the south side of the city, there's a small stream that acts as a moat. The vestiges of farmland are still visible, however the area is irregularly cleared. It seems the gnolls - either through laziness or arrogance - couldn't be bothered keeping it clear. The wilds have crept up to the moat. There is evidence of a somewhat-used trail, which suggests only groups of 12-30 at most. No ancient oak tree is immediately visible

29th Harvest

  • a howling storm rolls through, and the crew takes shelter in a cave. The remains of a small group are found deeper in the cave. They appear to be ~30yrs old. We find a magnificent gem, and a large brass key.
    • The key is fairly large, almost one pound in weight. Engraved on the bow of key is a sigil - the sigil of the city of Sturmhaven (aka Doggtown).

** We have dug in. No signs of opps. Goblins are in disarray, the mayor has absconded.
