"The Ancient Calamity" in the Gilden language, the Zustash Roroash is the name given to the collapse during the ancient and mythical Time of the Eight of the ancestral deep underground Dwarven empire said to be caused by the Akith Dasël (lit. "Wrath of Heaven") which caused sudden and widespread destruction and mass collapses through their ancient Mountainhome and tunnels. The above-ground effects of that sudden and violent destruction are said to have created the Scar and devastated most of the east of the Mainland. Those who survived and eventually made their way to the surface as survivors and refugees from that massive disaster became the nation of Gildenhome. Many Gilden, especially among ancient noble families, still consider themselves the direct continuation of government in exile of that fallen empire and work to slowly rebuild some fraction of the ancient greatness in the new settlements that have slowly built up in the ages to control the entire northeast of the continent.
