But, one -- the one you institnctively know is the Illithid ship, is like a great snail: a nautaliod shell on the back, from which extend four tenticles that wrap and coil together into a single point.
This point is driven into the heart of what looks to be a gargantuan spider, its eight legs, each twice the size of a castle watchtower, are wrapped around the nautaloid shell.
