Abbled's rise to power was shocking to a great many in the church who expected Mythrian Teldendilion , Hadrian Teldendilion's son, to be given the position after his rise to the age of majority and upon the death of his governess and regent, Hedran Riqtelo.
Teldendilion loyalists rose up in open revolt. The death of Danthel and their successor in the same disastrous battle led to the First Interregnum.
