Once a large and important city of Alexia and the original home to the University of Alexia. After years of increasingly dire yet ignored warnings leading up the Years of Dust in 11XX, much of the surviving staff and the archives of the University were safely moved and re-established in Nia-Agliare. Shortly thereafter the city was rapidly abandoned after prolonged drought and the encroaching Valley of Dust made it uninhabitable. It was eventually swallowed by the dust and lost though some reports and tales of treasure hunters and researchers have described expeditions to it and other ruined Alexian cities in that region in the centuries since.

The name of Ven is well-known historically as the starting point of the Prophets' War following a declaration of war against it by the Free City of Tanir in 30 BI.
