History
The University of Flannary was established after Alexandria's Crusade in 3 BI shortly before the official inception of the church with the stated purpose to spread learning, train clerics, and rebuild civilization. It was the first University to be launched after the vast political, religious, and magical changes wrought by Alexandria. It would be so successful in this mission that, within a decade, a second university in Fresia would be established for the same purpose. From the early days of the University noble houses were expected to employ a large number of religious consultants, tutors, and ministers, and provide host for a large number of elaborate ceremonies on their lands employing many who were educated through religious institutions, up through the University of Flannary. The University was officially given over to the Flannari Episocpacy in 212 FI. Throughout most of the history of Flannary noble families were expected to educate their children (and pay tuition) at this university as well.
