5 Wintercusp

• about 7 days away from Southwatch they come across a man fishing by the creek. When they start to approach the fisherman announces that they are being robbed and many crossbows are waiting to shoot.
• Sid tries to shut him down with Hideous Laughter but the man is revealed to be an illusion of at least a Major Illusion quality or higher spell.
• Some back and forth and negotiating by Gorra gets the illusion to agree to 75gp per person, but Thola and Sid are still not willing to pay. Gorra and Wolf do feel somewhat bad so leave a small amount of money and some rations while Sid casts Fog Cloud and the group runs away without further conflict.
• They do not appear to be followed and only lose 1 day circling further north.
• As they approach a different section of a small river Wolf sees a good chance to do a kick ass jump over the river on his magic horse Spruce. When the horse starts to clear the bank a giant lake troll jumps forth from the water and attacks and takes out Spruce.
• The party manages to take out the troll without any further losses then moves on after a short rest.
• Later that day they come across a small lake. 2 Giant Frogs hang out on giant lily pads and watch as the group approaches.
• Wolf approaches with food and the intention to cast Animal Friendship on the closest and makes a new friend.
• Once they begin crossing several more frogs rise to the surface and begin advancing.
• The next day Wolf continues to charm the toads and the party has no further significant encounters.
• The following day 2 toads pass their saves, but Wolf casts again and wins them back. No further significant encounters.
• The next day Wolf continues to charm the toads and the party approaches and starts seeing signs of civilization including obvious logging activities. A small band of lumberjacks see Wolf approaching with toads and flee in terror.
• They continue another day and make it to town on 13 Wintercusp.
