Due both to the Crusade and aggressive taxation, the King's popularity was at a Nadir, and Eloise was able to quickly rally both local nobility and foreign powers. The war was quick and bloodless, and by 1405 Aiden was deposed, his younger sister was installed as Queen Gwenith VII, and Eloise re-assumed her regency.
