Green Flu

A virulent and supernatural plague that swept through the north of Fresia in the early 1400s. It was eventually halted by geography and ruthless intervention from Gildenhome, Fresia, and Flannary. It was known to not only kill its host, but also corrupt them into a host of nasty, unique undead never before seen in Mainland history. The pestilence spread swiftly, as those who did not fall victim to the Flu inevitably fell victim to its victims.

The plague, by most common accounts, was caused by a Star Iron Strike near Draglett Fortress on the Gildenhome frontier. More controversial theories reject this thesis, noting that there were a great many stariron strikes between 1396 FI and 1401 FI, including the one that wiped out Arabelle. No other recorded stariron strikes, presumably part of the same event, led to an outbreak of Green Flu.

The Green Flu is one of the crises that made up the Calamity.
