Warby is small for a Giff but still considerably larger than most humanoids. He is probably a bit of a slob and has a dim view of grounders and divine magic.

			Born in GIFFSPACE Warby was the runt of his generation and a bookish nerd.

			When he came of age he took his first apprentice contract job as part of a small attachment of Giff mercenaries aboard a Gnomish whelk-class ship, ''The Unhinged Egg''. The ''Egg'' was owned by The Bad Yolks, a Gnomish co-operative syndicalist trading company involved with mostly black to grey market goods and freaky space art and archaeological treasures.

			Warby and the Giff contingent were mostly hired to guarantee no engagement with Giff mercenaries in the way that the Giff swear isn't just a protection racket.

			While he never saw any real action to speak of Warby discovered that he could easily follow along with magical work of the ship's head wizard and artificer, Bizzfizzle the Unhinged ("no relation") who had recently had new breakthroughs in magical gun creations. The gnome convinced Warby to pull his contract from the mercenaries and rededicate as his apprentice. Warby did so at the expense of alienating the other Giff and any family back home.

			In the recent past Bizzfizzle died in a massive explosion. It was a truly fantastic explosion but slightly early and Bizzfizzle, as well as Dr. Mitee, the ''Egg's'' healer, and several trees were killed. Warby was told he was no longer welcome on the ''Egg'' and had to beg to be dumped at the nearest spacer hub and not just left in bottom of a smoking crater in the middle of a jungle on some lousy planet.

			As he had withdrawn his contract with Giff mercenaries and his new contract was only with deceased would-be gunsmith Warby is now just trying to find a way back. Warby's been to space and if has to pass some local certification tests again he can.

			He's gonna keep working so he can keep experimenting and then one day he's going to build a gun and then they'll see!
