"The Declaration" depicts [[Steros Merroand]]'s revelation to [[Antioch]] and his minsters that [[Alexandria]], not [[Antioch]], was the savior spoken of in Alabar's prophecies, generally considered to be the start of the Prophet's War. The sword featured in this painting is not Steros', as one might expect, but rather [[Shadowfell]], also called [[Thorn of Midnight]], the stariron bastard sword crafted by [[Antioch]] for his failed assault on [[the Dark Lord]].
