The earliest thing they remember (and that is mostly remembered from dreams) was years as a mindless automaton serving the commands of Zetrag the Cunning, a feared Gith pirate captain who wore a control bracelet that controlled Survivor and several other "siblings" of identical appearance and capabilities. Zetrag found and looted the controller and the constructs aboard a derelict ship of an unknown species shortly before ~~it's~~ destruction. Most of the time Survivor and the other constructs sat in a storage hold and were brought out as flying cargo loaders and to access dangerous environments that Zetrag did not wish to risk real crew on. During an immense battle between Zetrag's ships and a force of Githzerai some interaction of several planar spells an area of Wildspace known as being prone to portals and Wild Magic caused a massive blast of strange energies from the Astral Plane and Limbo that destroyed nearly all of the combatants on both side. The blast vaporized Zetrag and the other constructs, but for some incomprehensible reason Survivor instead became conscious and self-aware. 	Survivor was found heavily damaged with their wings mostly destroyed amid the wreckage by the only other survivor of the battle, a powerful Githzerai psionic monk named Marmarin who undoubtedly did some sort of jedi bullshit to survive being blown up and falling from the sky onto a pile of rocks with barely enough soil and moss to support life. Marmarin at first thought Survivor was a simple mindless construct and at first Survivor continued to silently follow orders as they had for the wearer of the control bracelet, but Marmarin quickly realized that the construct was capable of more. While it was not intended to be a name she frequently referred to the construct as "my fellow survivor" and once Survivor began to talk the construct decided they liked that as a name and decided to keep it. Over the next 8 years they spent together marooned on the asteroid Marmarin taught Survivor many things and trained the construct in the basics of movement and meditation and together they managed to find enough food and water through foraging and scavenging the other wrecks, but Marmarin was always hoping for rescue. Miraculously rescue did come and before returning to her people in Limbo Marmarin left Survivor at a nearby spelljamming hub in good hands with the admonition to go out and learn and experience life as a free, sentient creature. Survivor is rather simple-minded and ~~their blank~~ features and non-biological nature is seen as off-putting and uncanny to many species. While Survivor's wings do allow for limited flight, they can not hover or fly for more than short bursts.		Fast and shiny and chrome. Their lack of facial features and non-biological nature is seen as off-putting and uncanny to many species and many mistake Survivor for just mindless robot. While Survivor is an excellent and empathetic listener they have a tendency towards being blunt and flighty with a limited emotional affect. Despite their metallic, artificial appearance Survivor moves with a quick and smooth grace and is prone to fidgeting in idle moments. While Survivor's wings do allow for limited flight, they can not hover or fly for more than short bursts.
