A slang term for the small percentage of Road Halflings that are completely sedentary. They maintain the primary halfling infrastructure in major settlements: warehouses, inns, taverns, and camp-land. As rent-seekers who have abandoned the open road and become connected to local politics, they are viewed with suspicion by many halflings although they are grudgingly tolerated because of their necessity to the Road Halfling way of life. As river halflings are much more sedentary and regionalized by nature, there is no equivalent in their society.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
