The story goes that man..."

New page

Alexandrian tradition states that the Servitor races were created by the Dark Lord before his original Banishment during the First War. The story goes that many of the Goodly races followed the Dark Lord willingly against the Old Gods, and from their number many were corrupted by the Dark Lord to suit his needs.

According to these traditions, these are the correspondences between the Servitors and the Goodly Races

*Hobgoblins were created from Elves.
*Orcs were created from Humans.
*Bugbears were created from Gnomes.
*Kobolds were created from Halflings.
*Giant-kin were created from Dwarves.
*Sahuagin were created from Lizardfolk
*The Dark Naga were created from the Naga (though both are extinct on the Mainland)
*Gnolls were created from The Lost.

Other races in this category don't have direct counterparts, instead said to be related to but distinct from those listed above (such as Goblins). Among those who study these things, the exact derivation of lesser servitor races is subject to intense debate.
