New page

stub

One of the Children of Tragedy, and one of the adopted sons of Sayid ibn Maimun. He was a tall, lithe man with red hair, a fiery temperament, and a quick wit. He was Sayid's constant traveling companion, and became like a true son to the man, and was arguably the only person, other than Alexandria herself, for whom Sayid ever felt genuine feelings of love and loyalty for.

When Sayid died, he made the controversial decision to make Mikos his primary heir over his many biological children, passing all of his titles to Mikos. Sayid's first wife, Hadiya led a successful coup against Mikos, stripping him of his royal titles and forcing him into exile among the bedouin. Mikos retained the title of Ishkahn, however, and led the Bedouin Moon Children of Petera in open revolt against the Peterans. This Petaran Civil War would rage for years before Mikos was finally betrayed, his followers defeated, and all of them forced into exile in The Ulan.

Mikos spent many decades in the Ulan, converting the forest barbarians to a peculiar version of Alexandrianism of his own design, classified in the mainland as Zupanist Alexandrianism, or the Zupanist Heresy. While seeking to convert the various warring tribes of the Ulan, Mikos invented a simple, pictographic alphabet to tie together the disparate languages and ethnic groups of the massive forest. Although unable to politically unite the tribes of the Ulan as he clearly hoped, he at least succeeded in unifying them in faith and gave them a common written language with which they could communicate with each other.
